How To Prepare For Your Tropical Vacation To Bali

February 16, 2020 //  by Geoff

Bali is a lively island off the coast of Indonesia. With volcanic mountains, golden beaches, and an impeccable cultural identity, Bali evokes the image of paradise on earth. Backpackers and families alike flock to the island all-year-round because of its tourist-forward amenities, dazzling nightlife, and loose VISA application system.

If you booked a trip to the island, then you are in for an exciting tropical experience. But before that, you need to make a couple of preparations, such as choosing one of many beautiful Bali villas and packing for water and adventure sports. Here are some tips to help you.

Find Accommodation

The first thing that you should sort immediately after booking tickets is to find accommodation. Prices and availability vary depending on your travel dates, but you can undoubtedly find gorgeous luxury villas for an affordable price. For instance, a 2,500 square foot villa furnished with bamboo walls and a flair of antique wonder will cost you anywhere between $300-700 a night, depending on the season. Renting a villa will allow you to accommodate around five people, which will enable you to split the bill with friends.

Upscale options are secluded in private villages or by the volcanoes and beaches. Choose an abode with the interior and amenities that you gravitate toward, such as a flower bath, a lily pad lake, or open-air rooms. There are a plethora of Instagram-worthy Bali villas ready to accommodate you at any time of the year, but make sure to book early to snag the best spots!

Create An Itinerary

There is an endless number of things to do in Bali — so much so that you might feel overwhelmed without a game plan. An itinerary will keep you and your travel group in check by ensuring that you make the most out of your time and stay within your budget. For instance, you may want to spend each morning doing a different watersport, such as snorkelling, surfing, or playing at Waterbom Bali. After a break and a hearty lunch, you may want to go biking, trekking, sightseeing, or jungle-swinging. When night falls, Bali’s after-dark personality comes alive with parties like no other.

By creating an itinerary, you can set specific dates for your must-sees and must-dos so that you can reserve tickets or slots in advance. It is especially important during the high season where an influx of tourists leaves some activities packed. An itinerary will also prompt you to stick to your budget and strategize on which dates to enjoy the nightlife — lest a hangover bars you from enjoying the next morning’s activities!

Pack For Every Activity

Most people fly to Bali with enough summer clothing and bikinis to last the trip. But if your itinerary is full of high-energy adventures, then you will benefit from a bigger wardrobe selection. Make sure to bring watersport-safe gear such as rashguards or non-stringy bikinis. You do not want to run the risk of nip slips and other wardrobe malfunctions while on holiday, after all. Taking some yoga or gym clothing will be great for your morning runs, local yoga sessions, and hiking trips.

Additionally, do not forget to bring sunscreen! They are a little more expensive in Bali, so purchase them before flying. Other things you will love to have are a waterproof case for your phone, a small day bag, and comfortable footwear.

Bali is the dream destination for millions of people around the globe. Make the most out of your vacation by being prepared. You will have a ton of fun meeting locals, fellow tourists, and marine life during your stay.
