Betway found out the fastest possible way to recreate Phileas Fogg’s journey would be to cover 27,778 miles by plane and train. While Fogg’s journey took him 80 days, completing the same journey by plane and train would only take you 3.3 days or 80 hours. That’s right it’s possible to travel around the world in just 80 hours!
However, if you’re interested in traveling around the world in 80 hours, keep in mind that you’ll have to deviate from Phileas Fogg’s path slightly due to stopovers and that you’ll also have to take 3 train rides. However, you may find breaking up flying around the globe with a few train trips enjoyable as you’ll get to see far more of the country’s which you pass through. By the way, Phileas Fogg also traveled by train during his race around the world.
How many days would it take to circumnavigate the globe by train?
If you were to try and complete as much as your trip by train as possible, it would take you just 31 days to recreate Fogg’s journey. So if you want to experience more of each country that you pass through, you may prefer to circumnavigate the world by train, rather by plane. The hardest part of traveling around the world by train is navigating the middle east which doesn’t have many train routes. As a result, you’ll have to travel by plane or car while traveling through the middle east.
What is the slowest way to travel around the world?
As you may have guessed the slowest way to travel around the world is to sail around the world. To recreate Phileas Fogg’s journey by ship would only take you 72 days. While this may sound like a long time, keep in mind that such a trip would still be significantly shorter than Fogg’s trip which took 80 days.
If you’re looking for a luxurious way to travel around the whole world, you can’t go wrong booking a worldwide cruise.
