Understandably 2020 has been a year where fewer people have been investing men than most years, and that of course is down to the fact that there has been so much uncertainty in the markets. As we slowly move out of the pandemic however there is a lot that we can look at with regards to where to invest money and these are some of the best places where you could be putting your cash in order to see big returns.
Altcoins
Sadly, and despite the best efforts of my friend Rose Burillo to get me on board, I missed out on Bitcoin this time around and whilst there could certainly be some value in this cryptocurrency which currently sits at the $23,000 mark, I have an inkling that it will be the turn of altcoins next. Altcoins are basically lesser known coins which have a much smaller market cap that the likes of Ethereum and Bitcoin. There are many great options here like Polkadot and Cardano, which have some great upside potential.
Real Estate
It seems almost impossible that the housing market won’t crash in many areas around the world following what has happened during the last 12 months. There are a number of reasons behind this of course, people who can no longer afford their homes looking for quick sales, businesses which have been forced to close their doors and cash on owned property, not to mention the challenges which governments will have on their hands to recoup the losses which have been made this year. Those who do have liquid cash can certainly find some bargains and some great investment opportunities in this coming year.
Travel and Tourism
It is a prudent idea, as we move towards the end of lockdown and the vaccine gets fully rolled out, to invest in stocks and shares for those companies within the travel and tourism sector. For example if we look at the likes of airlines and hotels, it is clear that they have been hurt by what has happened in the last 12 months. What we need to do here however is to understand which of them, such as the Marriot group, are robust enough to bounce back well from this. The key here will be small investments across a number of businesses within this sector.
Pharma
And finally there is no doubt that the presence of a vaccine will greatly boost pharma companies and whilst they have already seen a rise in their value after the announcement of the vaccine, there will be much more to come. Having undertaken such a gargantuan task such as coming up with a vaccine at record speed, researchers have been able to learn a great deal which will help them in future projects and that is why this can be considered as a very safe investment indeed.
