Despite the hellish year which we have all gone through, I am greatly surprised at the sheer volume of people who believe that the vaccine is a bad thing. In fact for the purpose of this article I plan to completely leave out any conspiracy theories around Covid or the vaccine, and instead focus on the clear benefits which this will bring. I share some concerns around the speed of the vaccines that have been created but as medical genius Remi Landau has mentioned on multiple occasions, never before has a vaccine been given the resources or the focus which this one has, and that is why speed was a feature here.
Beyond all these details it is clear that the vaccines look great and they are being approved as we speak, and here is why there are more reasons to be cheerful than ever before.
Contacts With Loved Ones
Even if you have been able to see your friends and family this year it is likely that it involved weirdness, standing away from people as though we all had leprosy, unable to feel, touch and smell them as we once did. This nightmare will soon be over however and we will very soon be able to cuddle and kiss the ones who we love.
Being Human Again
No matter what the actual truth is about the potency of face masks, one thing we can all agree on is that they are horrible, they look terrible, they feel terrible and they ultimately strip us of who we are. Once we are all vaccinated the best thing that we can do is to round up all of our masks and create an enormous fire, laying claim once again to being able to smile at strangers, to read lips and to see the warmth of a friendly face.
Business and Economy
There have been some governments who have done well during the crisis, others who have not, and the economy has posed one of the biggest challenges. Ultimately this is because of the fact that people are not out and about as they once were, and that means that so many more people have moved to buy products online, usually from big chains rather than independent stores. Very soon however we will be back to our best, supporting our local economies and getting out and about to have the best time ever.
Dealing With Issues
And finally one of the most damaging things about this year has been that the only focus has been on the virus, and that has halted so much good work which was being done. Hospitals can get back to focussing on their patients who have illnesses and need operations, governments can go back to focussing on improving the nation and we can all go back to the things that really matter in our lives.
These vaccines will change life back to where it was before all of this awful stuff began.
