3 Simple Ideas to Keep You Entertained If You’re Traveling to Cape Cod on Business

March 5, 2018 //  by Geoff

For those doing business on-the-go and you’re looking for somewhere to settle for a work-focused trip, why not Massachusetts?

Seriously, though: Rich history, absolutely gorgeous architecture and cuisine that’s absolutely to die for. What more could you want?

And whether you’re a digital nomad looking to make Massachusetts your temporary home or you’ve got a business trip lined up, Cape Cod has something for you.

Think about it. While the bustling metro area of Boston may be enticing, there’s something just so comfortable about spending some quality time in Cape Cod. Whether you’re making a day trip of it or just want a getaway for the sake of getting down to business, consider the following things you can do to make the most of your travels.

Consider a Campground

Perhaps the most notable point about Cape Cod for out-of-towners is the price tag. While the Cape itself isn’t exactly the cheapest place in the world to stay, there are options available for savvy travelers who want to experience it firsthand while keeping money in their pocket.

Given the popularity of camping trips for business owners, why not check out one of the Cape’s campgrounds? Embracing nature and saving money is a major plus; meanwhile, there’s always the option of renting an RV in Massachusetts via Outdoorsy.

Seriously: campgrounds can keep your budget in check if you want to see Cape Cod right. After all, having your own wheels means you’re not too far from Boston proper or Martha’s Vineyard if you’re hungry to see more of the state. Tent or RV camping likewise ensures that you have all the comforts of the office you need while you are focused on work rather than play.

Hit the Beach (and Go Fishing)

Fishing and New England go hand in hand for good reason. Visiting Cape Cod means hitting the water in some way, shape or form: what better way to unwind than trying to snag a bass?

If fishing isn’t exactly your speed, don’t worry. You can soak up the sun or just chill on your laptop shoreside at some of Cape Cod’s best beaches if that’s more up to your speed. The Cape Cod National Seashore is a must-see if you want to both get a peaceful walk in and also see the natural beauty that coastal Massachusetts has to offer.

Sample the Local Cuisine

Trying local fare might very well be the highlight of your trip, especially given the tasty staple dishes of New England. Rather than stick with the same-old dishes, consider giving some of the following a try while you’re out and about:

Steamed clams

A genuine lobster roll

Clam chowder

Authentic Boston baked beans

And hey, you can make a whole day out of dish-hunting if you want to!

Full of hidden gems and no shortage of things to do, Cape Cod is an enticing spot for those looking to relax and get some serious work done at the same time. So if you haven’t started planning your trip yet, what are you waiting for?
