For so many years when I would go away for work reasons, I would focus on getting myself a great hotel in which I would stay for the duration of the trip. Despite being away for months on end, the terms and conditions around most private rentals were simply too problematic for me to consider this as an option. Early last year howeverI began to stay in furnished corporate housing, and I have to say that this has been an absolute game changer for me.
If you do travel for work, for lengthy periods, then here is why this is the only kind of accommodation which you should be looking at.
Home From Home
I never felt at home in a hotel, but I always anticipated that and managed my expectations accordingly. In fact, prior to going away on those trips, I would often prepare my mind for the lengthy time I’d be in a hotel, and for the things which I was no longer going to be able to have or do. When it comes to furnished rentals however you really do get the best of both worlds. These spaces both feel homely and they have the amenities which you would come to expect from somewhere which is designed especially for the long term traveling worker.
The Extras
As much as I do enjoy eating out, when you are in a hotel for such a long time it does eventually become very boring indeed. In fact there would be some days where I just wanted to go back from work, put my PJs on and make myself a sandwich. Of course when you cannot do this it means you must get dressed up and take yourself out for a meal, before retiring to your room. This is something which I love about corporate furnished housing, having a kitchen which you can use when you like, or having a laundry room who that you can quickly wash something the night before work. These extras may not seem like very much but when you do spend such a long time away from home, they really do make the difference.
Location
I would often bemoan the location of my hotels, which were either deep rooted in the boring business district, close to work, far from action, or they would be miles from work, and in noisy areas. Those who have bought and designed these private rentals however, they have done so because they understand the area in which they are situated and the areas where most workers will come to stay. In my experience of using these places, they are always perfectly situated between the office district and close enough to the kinds fo amenities which you would expect to need during such a trip.
There is no doubt in my mind that this is the superior accommodation for those who are traveling away with their job for a long period of time, and it is unlikely that I shall be staying in a hotel for similar reasons again. To read more on topics like this, check out the lifestyle category.
