5 Tips For a Great Summer Wedding

December 9, 2020 //  by Geoff

If there’s one thing that most people can agree on, it’s that summer weddings are the best kinds of weddings. So, it’s easy to understand why summertime is one of the most popular times of the year for people to get hitched. The sun is shining, there’s no need to worry about being cold, and let’s face it, who doesn’t love getting married outside.

However, it’s important to know some of the best tips to ensure that your summer wedding is as great as you hope it can be. Take a look at some of the best pointers for planning the perfect summer wedding.

Keep It Cool

Depending on where you live, it may be considerably hot. It’s important that you plan ahead by keeping things cool. One of the best ways to do that is to choose a location that has an outdoor and indoor area. That way, guests can enjoy the sunny outdoors and also come inside for a bit of shade if it gets too hot.

It also helps to rent air conditioning units or other gadgets like handheld fans. Not only is keeping your guests a priority, but also keeping your flowers cool. All it takes is a few hours of intense heat to wilt all your gorgeous blooms.

Provide Plenty Of Beverages

When it’s hot outside, it’s important that your guests have plenty of beverages to hydrate with. While alcoholic beverages are expected at a wedding, you should also make sure that you provide non-alcoholic beverages too.

Booze can cause guests to become even more dehydrated in the sun, so to avoid any health issues, you should make sure that everyone has plenty of water on hand.

Hand Out Sunscreen

Part of hosting a great wedding is being a great host. Consider passing out small bottles of sunscreen for each of your guests. They’ll appreciate you helping them avoid a sunburn while watching you tie the knot.

Choose The Right Seating

When choosing your seating, it’s important that you take the sun into account. Make sure that your guests have chairs that don’t absorb the sunlight an in turn burn their behinds when they sit. Metal should be avoided at all costs, and ideally, avoid dark-colored chairs. Dark colors absorb light, so you’re asking for burned butts with anything other than white.

Choose Non-Perishable Appetizers

Before the actual sit down dinner portion of your wedding, you should offer your guests appetizers. Since the appetizer portion of your wedding will involve your food sitting out for a long period of time, it’s best to choose items that won’t go bad in the heat. Think crackers and fruits as opposed to cheeses and meats.
