Knowing on what occasion we should use the dress code is something that is more important than we often think. The way of dressing speaks for itself, since it transmits information, being the first impression we make when arriving at any place, whether it is to go to an assembly, a date, an elegant party or any other activity. The way of dressing reflects part of the personality of each one.
At present, young people tend to follow mistaken patterns of clothes to wear, since they are guided by the world of entertainment, whether they are singers, artists, models, as well as the costumes of foreign television series that in many. Sometimes they have nothing to do with our climate.
I don’t think there is a pattern that we all have to follow. All this goes in the social activity that we develop and in our personal style, although that does not deny that sometimes we must comply with certain dress standards when it comes to more formal activities and outings.
When we go to run errands or do informal day-to-day errands, we can wear a simpler wardrobe such as trendy fashion.
Some Etiquette Suggestions When Dressing In:
- Assembly: In the assemblies we should avoid dresses in the case of women, since it is a very formal and serious activity, so it would be good to wear skirts and pants with a long-sleeved shirt and/or jacket, using colors such as black, white, grey, Prussian blue. Men in dress pants with a long-sleeved shirt, jacket or guayabera; for both cases the footwear must be closed and classic.
- Appointment: According to the place and time of day, we must choose the clothes to wear on an appointment, for women there are many possible combinations, from saya-blouse, pants-blouse or shirt, dresses, sandals, ballerinas, or platforms. For men from dress pants or jeans, combining it with a long or short sleeved shirt and a pullover, the shoes can be more informal.
- Elegant party: We suggest women opt for a long dress or a skirt or pants and jacket set that never go out of style, avoiding very short and tight dresses. If you prefer, a short dress that is knee length and always accompany it with fine stockings, dress shoes either closed or sandal style, but preferably with a heel, even if it is small. While men can wear a long-sleeved shirt, blazer or guayabera and dress shoes, not sandals or sneakers.
The wardrobe, along with personal heimish dress, reveals who we are.
